Description:
Professor Mark Macklin, a globally renowned expert on river responses to climate change, will open proceedings with a public lecture from 4:00 to 4:50 p.m. on “From the Industrial Revolution to the ‘Green’ Energy Transition: Impacts of Metal Mining on Global River Systems.”

Following his lecture, Professor Macklin will be joined by:

  • Dr. Vinay Nangia, internationally recognized expert in hydrological and water quality modeling and resource management
  • Dr. Joe McConnell, snow hydrologist and ice core specialist
  • Professor Joe Manning, Yale Egyptologist

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Selga Medenieks, ancient Near Eastern historian at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.
