From the Industrial Revolution to the “Green” Energy Transition: Impacts of Metal Mining on Global River Systems

Description: Professor Mark Macklin, a globally renowned expert on river responses to climate change, will open proceedings with a public lecture from 4:00 to 4:50 p.m. on “From the Industrial Revolution to the ‘Green’ Energy Transition: Impacts of Metal Mining on Global River Systems.”
Following his lecture, Professor Macklin will be joined by:
Dr. Vinay Nangia, internationally recognized expert in hydrological and water quality modeling and resource management
Dr. Joe McConnell, snow hydrologist and ice core specialist
Professor Joe Manning, Yale Egyptologist
The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Selga Medenieks, ancient Near Eastern historian at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.
