Geospatial Community of Practice Kick-Off
Geospatial Community of Practice
Friday, February 13 | 12:00–1:00 PM | 37 Hillhouse, Room 101
Lunch provided
Yale has a dynamic and growing geospatial community. Across campus, students, faculty, and staff are using spatial data and tools in creative and powerful ways, often in parallel. This planning session is about bringing that energy together.
Join us for an interactive lunch to help shape a new Geospatial Community of Practice at Yale. This will be a space to connect across disciplines, share skills and ideas, and build momentum around geospatial work on campus. Together, we will brainstorm formats, topics, and activities that would make this community valuable and sustainable, from workshops and guest talks to peer learning, hackathons, and informal meetups.
This is a discussion-focused session, and your input will directly influence what this Community of Practice becomes. The goal is simple: create something that supports your work, fits into busy schedules, and makes it easier to learn from one another.
Whether you are deeply embedded in geospatial research, an occasional practitioner, or simply curious about spatial approaches, you are warmly invited to take part.
Come help build a geospatial community shaped by the people who will use it.
