Aline Maybank is a second-year Master of Public Health student at the Yale School of Public Health, concentrating in climate change and health. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Medical and Environmental Sciences from Dalhousie University. Her research investigates the effects of wildfire smoke on air quality, human health outcomes, and community health adaptation strategies. Last summer, Aline led a project as a Team Lead & Researcher with the NASA DEVELOP Program, utilizing remote sensing technology to assess how environmental conditions influence fire risk in Vermont. She also worked as a Community Air Quality Researcher & Educator with the Healthy Air Network, where she was instrumental in supporting a statewide air quality sensor network across Massachusetts. She also analyzed sensor data and organized community events to enhance public awareness of air pollution’s health impacts. In 2022, Aline interned with the United Nations Environment Programme as an Environment & Government Affairs Intern, contributing to environmental governance initiatives and supporting international efforts in sustainability and climate action.
