Bela Starinchak is a Research Associate in the Brando Lab at YSE. She does remote sensing, evaluating how tropical forests are responding to compounding disturbances like deforestation, prolonged droughts, and climate change at various scales. Before that, for her Master’s research, she assessed how previous remote estimations of tree carbon in mosaic agricultural landscapes compare to present-day field estimations. Bela primarily works with R, Google Earth Engine, and ArcGIS Pro.
