Jacob is a PhD student working with Xuhui Lee and Mark Ashton to study the distribution and impact of lianas (woody vines) in North American forests using field ecology and remote sensing approaches. Jacob has experience with using Google Earth Engine to gather and analyze remote sensing data, obtaining and processing UAV multispectral and LiDAR data, and machine learning using ENVI, Google Earth Engine, and R. He has worked previously as a GIS and Remote Sensing Consultant for Yale faculty and students and as the teaching fellow for Professor Lee’s Observing Earth From Space course.
