Nadia Zikiou is an Associate Research Scientist at the Yale Center for Geospatial Solutions’ Earth Observation Lab. She holds a PhD in Remote Sensing and a degree in Electrical Engineering and Electronics. From 2022 to 2024, she served as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies and the Department of Computer Science. Her research focuses on the intersection of remote sensing, geospatial analysis, and environmental science, with a particular emphasis on innovative approaches to Earth observation and environmental monitoring. She specializes in the compression and classification of hyperspectral images, leveraging advanced techniques like sparse representation and spectral graph transforms, as well as applying AI methods to satellite imagery and geospatial data.
