Pierre is an advisor to the Yale School of Public Health’s Humanitarian Research Lab (HRL) where he supports the team’s satellite data sourcing, reporting, and analysis activities.
Pierre has had a 30-year career in the earth observation industry, serving in the public and private sector. Pierre served in the US Government as a junior imagery analyst with the National Photographic Interpretation Center (NPIC) and the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA). Between 2000 and 2023 Pierre held various leadership roles at DigitalGlobe and Maxar, the global leader in commercial earth intelligence. He helped establish the company’s satellite collection operations activities and held a range of responsibilities in product innovation, strategic partnerships, and corporate development.
Pierre’s hobbies include freshwater flyfishing, running, hiking, camping, travel, and exploring the mountains. Pierre’s passionate about history, the Philadelphia Eagles, and making an impact on earth with cameras in space. Pierre holds a BA in Government from Franklin and Marshall College and an MA in International Studies from the Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Pierre lives in Denver, Colorado, with his wife, Julie, where they are raising their two daughters.
