My name is Shou-En “Samuel” Tsao, and I am a 3rd-year PhD student at the Yale School of Environment. Originally from Taiwan, my research focuses on developing predictive models to assess long-term changes in river chemistry by leveraging large geo-spatial datasets through GIS and machine learning (ML). I am also involved in several lab and data analysis projects investigating the transport of carbon from soils to the ocean, with a particular focus on addressing uncertainties related to future applications of enhanced rock weathering as a carbon removal strategy. Aside from work, I have a strong passion for running, basketball, and philosophy.
