Yeim We recently graduated with a Master of Forest Science from the Yale School of the Environment. Her thesis provided an in-depth analysis of eucalyptus plantation management in Brazil, focusing on its impact on soil carbon and nutrients. This work was recognized at the 2024 New England Society of American Foresters Annual Meeting and the Student Conference on Conservation Science-New York. Additionally, Yeim led a project assessing solar panel performance through drone technology. She generated detailed temperature maps that enhanced energy monitoring capabilities while advancing her technical expertise in GIS, remote sensing, and photogrammetry.
Yeim represented the children & youth group at the 19th United Nations Forum on Forests, where she actively participated in high-level policy discussions, leveraging her fieldwork and research experience. She also served as a Communications Associate at the Yale Forest School for two years. Before her studies at Yale, Yeim worked with the United Nations Environment Programme’s West Africa Office in Côte d’Ivoire. During her year there, she contributed to UN initiatives for the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and played a key role in advocating for World Environment Day 2021. Yeim holds a BS in Life Sciences from Korea University, where her research on plant immunity was published in the journal Molecular Plant.
