Across the U.S., the closure of churches and religious spaces is reshaping the social, cultural, and health infrastructure of communities. This convening will bring together faith leaders, policymakers, philanthropists, academics, entrepreneurs, developers, and local residents to explore the far-reaching impacts of these closures on community well-being and to co-develop solutions.
The centerpiece of the event will be the launch of a groundbreaking data dashboard—developed with the support of the Yale Center for Geospatial Solutions—that visualizes the health impacts of church closures at both national and local levels. This inaugural version focuses on churches, with future iterations planned to include other faith-based institutions.
