About the Event
Join Allen Carroll, Program Manager for Storytelling at Esri, for an engaging talk on Telling Stories with Maps. Allen founded Esri’s StoryMaps team, which has empowered hundreds of thousands of individuals and organizations to create place-based stories that blend interactive maps with multimedia content. He leads an editorial team supporting a global community of digital storytellers.
Before joining Esri, Allen spent 27 years at the National Geographic Society, where he served as chief cartographer. He oversaw the creation of the Society’s renowned reference and wall maps, globes, and atlases, and led the production of the Seventh and Eighth editions of the World Atlas, integrating thematic maps with interactive web resources. His leadership advanced projects focused on biodiversity, conservation, and indigenous cultures.
Allen is the author of Telling Stories with Maps, published by Esri Press in June 2025.
