Alexey Shiklomanov is the YCGS Lead Research Software Engineer. His interests span Earth science informatics, particularly the application of big data to addressing societal challenges and the novel software engineering problems posed by Earth science data. Before joining Yale, Alexey was a Research Physical Scientist at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where he conducted research on vegetation remote sensing, managed software engineering teams developing data analysis tools, and advised NASA Earth Science leadership on data processing, management, and distribution. Alexey holds a B.S. in Chemistry and Environmental Science from the University of Delaware and a Ph.D. in Geography from Boston University.
