Hi, I’m Deven West, a sophomore undergraduate studying Statistics & Data Science with a certificate in Climate Science & Solutions. I’m passionate about applying quantitative methods to environmental challenges, particularly in visualizing and addressing the impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities.
My research interests center on urban studies, natural disasters, and geospatial science, with a focus on how natural disasters affect different urban environments. Currently, I work as a student researcher investigating the increasing frequency of wildfires in the Eastern United States. Through geospatial data science, I aim to develop tools and insights that inform disaster preparedness, urban planning, and climate resilience strategies.
