Kylie is a Master of Environmental Science student at the Yale School of the Environment. She holds a B.S. in Atmospheric Science from Cornell University with a minor in Law and Society. At Yale, she is advised by Dr. Xuhui Lee, and her research interests center on aerosol-cloud interactions and their influence on cloud microphysical processes.
At the Yale Center for Geospatial Solutions, Kylie contributes to research focused on reconstructing changes in fire activity through time using paleofire records. This work aims to improve regional and global fire histories, examine how proxy-based reconstructions compare with fire simulations from climate models, and improve our understanding of the interactions between fire, the atmosphere, and climate.
As an undergraduate, Kylie completed an honors thesis advised by Dr. Arthur DeGaetano examining biases associated with changes in precipitation instrumentation across U.S. observing networks and how these biases vary across different precipitation regimes.
