Geospatial Research Assistant

Sierra Wheeler is a Master of Environmental Science (MESc) student in the Seto Lab for Urbanization and Global Change at the Yale School of the Environment. Her research explores how urban heat shapes vegetation phenology and the resilience of green spaces in Freetown, Sierra Leone. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Forestry from the University of British Columbia, where she worked as a research assistant in the Urban Ecology Lab studying the links between landscape design and urban heat. Sierra is committed to developing data-driven strategies that enhance urban resilience and promote sustainable urbanization.
