Spencer Blackwood is a Research Data Scientist with the Yale Center for Geospatial Solutions. His current work leverages geospatial techniques to optimize carbon sequestration estimation protocols. He obtained his B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Yale College, where he concentrated in engineering and data science. As an undergraduate, he contributed to survey data analysis and visualization at the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication as a Social Data Scientist and Research Assistant. His thesis analyzed survey data of Connecticut coastal residents, examining predictors of evacuation behavior and spatial patterns in risk perception.
