On Friday, October 24, 2025, experts from across disciplines gathered for a full day of presentations and discussions on river systems, climate impacts, and historical and contemporary modeling approaches. The convening brought together Yale faculty, researchers, and invited specialists for lightning talks, guest lectures, and collaborative dialogue.

The morning opened with a welcome to Yale, followed by project updates and lightning talks from Esmaeel Adrah, Joe Morgan, Ram Singh, Allegra LeGrande, and Kostas Tsigaridis. A guest lecture by Vinay Nangia explored key themes in environmental modeling, followed by presentations from Jim Stagge and Irenee Munyejuru on flooding dynamics in ancient Egypt and the impacts of volcanic eruptions on the Nile.

After lunch, Mark Macklin delivered an afternoon guest lecture, followed by a presentation from Joe McConnell on atmospheric lead pollution and its societal impacts during the Roman era. The day concluded with a group discussion focused on synthesizing insights and identifying next steps for the Resilient Rivers initiative.

The convening provided a valuable forum for interdisciplinary exchange and helped shape future directions for research and collaboration within the Resilient Rivers network.
